PostHeaderIcon so umm yeah, the site was hacked..

yeah..  it was my own fault really for not following all the guidlines set ou by the gallery2 people at Menalto...  I won't get into the specifics. but someone got my ftp password, and uploaded some html files that were crafted so as to get a lot of hits, no matter the search criteria. This had the effect of seeding the search engines to hit these bogus pages contained on my web server.  Each page had some java script that exploited some known vulnerabilities in ..  wait for it..   Microsoft Internet Explorer....  no suprise there..  If you don't update your system, welcome to the borg..  you maybe in a botnet..  scary stuff..

in any case,  it gave me an excuse to upgrade Joomla to the newest, more secure version.  Also, I punted Gallery2, not because I didn't like it, but because it used a bridge to join Joomla and the gallery together.  I wanted something that was integrated into Joomla instead of a bolt on.  so I went with JoomGallery.  seems pretty good.  It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Gallery2 did. but it'll fit the bill for the time being.

in the mean time, I'm still tweaking here and there,  I've uploaded some new pics, and there we are.

Kindest regards

PostHeaderIcon New page over at Factcheck.org

Hi there,  our friends over at factcheck.org has a new page called the wire.  you can see it here  http://wire.factcheck.org/    They're using it as the quick response page to the crap that the campaigns are pumping into the airwaves.  It seems to me the the McCain campaign is really stretching the truth, and in cases out and out lying...   on politifact.com, you can checkout the "truth-o-meter" and see how much people are telling the truth, telling half truths, and "pants on Fire" lying...  check out the comparison and see for yourself...

Its my estimation that the Karl Rove machine is at work because the same tactics used by Bush on McCain on previous elections, are now being used by McCain...  Lying worked for Bush,  it might work for McCain too I spose..  don't take my word for it.. check it out yourself....  here are some other non-partisan fact checking sites that I like...

PS.  I'm really disappointed in McCain,  I thought he was a lot better than this..

HEH  PSS..   when Karl Rove says you've gone too far,  you know you went too far..  That guy has no scrupals..  and when someone like that tells you you're tellin too many lies.......     strange days indeed.. http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2008/09/14/mccain-lies-too-much-for-karl-rove/

PostHeaderIcon As You Like It

Alvirne High School's Class Act put on another great performance last weekend with their interpretation of “As You Like It”. All of the thespians did a fantastic job along with all the people who worked behind the scenes including the Techs and all the parents who volunteered their time and sweat. For some of the actors it was their final performance with the troop, they're done with high school, and will be off to bigger and better things come the fall. There were a couple of Alumni who came back to play roles in the production. Jacques was played by Matt Barry and Charles, played by Ryan Fleury. I have to say that Matt's Jacques was extremely good. Other performances that stuck out in my mind were the Victim played by Sarah Dussault she was very convincing, a simply delightful performance.(cough.. cough.. No Bias there...) And Touchstone played by Jason Perrin I thought was great. All of the Sheep were Hilarious, I don't think I can do them justice, but if you have a chance to go to the production in the fall, it'd be worth it just for the sheep. I think what I like most about it

PostHeaderIcon Welcoming Ryan home

We've had a busy couple of weeks welcoming Ryan home and getting settled in. (There are some pictures in the picture gallery...) He was born on July 26th at 6:02 AM; he was 8 pounds even, and measured in at 21 inches. We had a great experience at the Elliot hospital in Manchester. Props to all the nurses there in the delivery/maternity areas, they were all great. The delivery was quiet and peaceful. Diane did a great job through the whole thing. She was up and about the next day with no pain medication at all. One of the nurses thought that she was afraid to ask for pain medication, but in reality she didn't feel like she needed it. For the most part, Ryan stayed in the room with us the entire time except for the first night. We were still on an all-nighter at the time, and needed the rest. They brought him in every couple of hours for feeding. All in all, everyone at the hospital was great and we (I should say Diane...) sent along a note to them to thank them.

We brought him home on Monday afternoon (July 28th)...
