Alvirne High School's Class Act put on another great performance last weekend with their interpretation of “As You Like It”. All of the thespians did a fantastic job along with all the people who worked behind the scenes including the Techs and all the parents who volunteered their time and sweat. For some of the actors it was their final performance with the troop, they're done with high school, and will be off to bigger and better things come the fall. There were a couple of Alumni who came back to play roles in the production. Jacques was played by Matt Barry and Charles, played by Ryan Fleury. I have to say that Matt's Jacques was extremely good. Other performances that stuck out in my mind were the Victim played by Sarah Dussault she was very convincing, a simply delightful performance.(cough.. cough.. No Bias there...) And Touchstone played by Jason Perrin I thought was great. All of the Sheep were Hilarious, I don't think I can do them justice, but if you have a chance to go to the production in the fall, it'd be worth it just for the sheep. I think what I like most about it

is that the actors seem to really know what's going on in the play. You can hear it in the way they deliver the lines. The barbs sounds like barbs and the curses sound like curses. In some productions the pentameter is delivered in a sing-songy pattern. Not so with Class Act. They come off naturally and with the right inflections.

They always put on a great show. I think a lot has to do with Alvirne's faculty member Jen LaFrance. She gives all the credit to the students where it belongs. But I give her credit for helping the kids put the best effort forward. All the kids absolutely adore her and I don't think it would be the same without her. Thanks to the All the kids, and Thanks to Jen L. for all the hard work and wonderful performances.
