inject a little reality into this election cycle
If you're like a lot of people, you've had no choice but to hear (and perhaps listen to) all the talking heads out there about the presidential race. They all do a lot of toungue wagging and spin the facts as fast and and as far as they think they can get away with. There's a lot of things that you can do to educate youself to the facts and learn what the real deal is. I don't care what side of the political spectrum you're on. I tend to lean to the left. (but that's a different post...) 2 things that I do is check out c-span's Washington Journal. If you do podcasts, you can get thier podcasts HERE. Or, if you're at work or not in front of the TV, you can listen live on the main site HERE. Washington Journal is on at 7AM eastern.
The other site that is good that I like is http://www.factcheck.org . This site is good at picking apart all of the political Ads, and setting the facts straight. It points out all the ways the facts are twisted and misrepresented to deliver a distorted message. good stuff. and, it hits all sides of the political spectrum. It's a non-descriminatory fact whacker. good stuff that.. Education is the best thing you can do.
